This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you about how TutorTies, Inc (“the Platform”) treats Personal Information that we process about you. If you do not agree to any part of this Privacy Policy, then we cannot provide the Platform to you, and you should stop accessing the Platform and deactivate your TutorTies, Inc account. This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our website or mobile application?

When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email, phone number, course specifics, resume, transcript, credit card information, Bank Account or other details to help you with your experience with TutorTies, Inc.

When do we collect information?

We collect information from you when you register on our mobile application, enter information on our application or utilize our service.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for email updates, respond to a marketing communication, surf the website or mobile application, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of service in which you are most interested and satisfied with.
  • To improve our website and mobile application in order to better serve you.
  • To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
  • To quickly process your transactions.
  • To ask for ratings and reviews of tutors and overall services.
  • To follow up after correspondence (live chat, email or phone inquiries).

How do we protect your information?

  • Our website and mobile application is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.
  • Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply via the website is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
  • Stripe Payment: According to Stripe Security: “Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, we make use of best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe. Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL), including our public website and the Dashboard. Stripe.js is served only over TLS and Stripe’s official libraries connect to Stripe’s servers over TLS and verify TLS certificates on each connection. We regularly audit the details of our implementation: the certificates we serve, the certificate authorities we use, and the ciphers we support. We use HSTS to ensure browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons are able to obtain plaintext card numbers; instead, they can just request that cards be sent to a service provider on a static whitelist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.). Stripe has two PGP keys to encrypt your communications with Stripe, or verify signed messages you receive from Stripe. Which key you make use of is dependent on the information needing to be transmitted: 1) To securely contact Stripe, use our general PGP key and 2) To send sensitive data, such as credit card information as part of a data import, use our data migration PGP key. If you’re unfamiliar with PGP, check out GPG, and start by importing a public key.” (https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe)
  • We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
  • For your convenience we may store your credit card and bank information for more than 60 days in order to expedite future orders, and to automate the billing process.
